NRA Convention – Day 1
May 15th, 2009GH and I are in Phoenix for the NRA Convention. We arrived last night and will be here in Phoenix until Sunday afternoon. It is hot!! down here!
There were sooooo many people!
One of the first things that we did – after waiting in a 30 minute line for a sticker to get into the exhition hall – was go to the booth for NRA News. Jerry got to meet Cam Edwards, a host for NRA News Radio.
He told Cam that it was him that inspired him to get his FFL and start Lobogunz.com and gave Cam a nice pocketknife with “Lobogunz” engraved on it.
Today we went to the Leadership Forum. Sarah Palin was supposed to be here but wasn’t- so was Dean Cain, the actor, and he was not there either – Iwas looking forward to him. But I did see all of the NRA officials, AZ Governor Jan Brewer, AZ State Senator John McCain, Michael Regan (who I think I enjoyed the most) Dick Morris-Fox News commentator, Michael Steele-Chairman of the Republican Nat’l Committee, Ken Blackwell-Former Ohio Secretary of State and Dick Heller-Plaintiff of D.C. vs Heller. I didn’t know many of these speakers before today but they all had, in general, one thing to say – Support Our Second Amendment.
AZ Governor Jan Brewer
We got to meet Dick Heller, speak with him and get his autograph at the end of the Forum. He sued Washington D.C. over the total gun ban and won.
His mantra is “Freedom, Freedom, Freedom!!”
Then for the trip back to our motel room, we got to ride a bike – sort of…
