Conan’s Inspirational Farewell
January 23rd, 2010This farewell of Conan O’Brien’s was the MOST inspirational speech I have ever heard. I never watched much of his show and I am sad now that I did not get to know this man better….. but he will be back sometime, somewhere and I will not miss the opportunity again. Here is a small quote of his speech that I found so inspiring! Thanks, Conan, I will not forget these words!
“To all the people watching, I can never thank you enough for your kindness to me and I’ll think about it for the rest of my life. All I ask of you is one thing: Please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism — it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere.”
“Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen.”

I’ve never watched him much either. Years ago I watched when Carson had the show but I sort of switched over to Lettermen or more’s the truth I went to bed earlier. The quote is very good and I will try and remember it.

I only caught glimses of Conan, also because I was usually heading to bed, but I did like what I saw. I was never a Leno fan, or a Letterman fan for that matter. I did like how he went out though, and I hope what ever he ends up doing will be a bit earlier. As for Leno, I would rather sit through Jimmy Kimmel or Greg Ferguson if I had the choice.

I was just talking with my friend about this today at the resturant. Don’t know how in the world we got on the topic actually , they brought it up. I do recall having a wonderful steak salad with ranch on it. I digress…
