First, the duck laid the 4th egg today. I am pretty sure that it is the grey duck. We are not leaving them in the duck house. They seem to be pullet eggs, smaller eggs laid in the first laying. She is not trying to sit on it at all… in fact, she is pushing it out to the edges of their house.
Second, some of you asked me to let you know how the FlyPredators are doing…. They are FANTASTIC! The horses are not as bothered by the flies. And in the house, I am only finding about 10 flies at night - instead of hundreds. They are well worth the 18.45 (delivered) a month.
And third - Great Husband is in Cheyenne, WY at the Cheyenne Frontier Days, World’s Largest Outdoor Rodeo and Western Celebration, with Rascal Flatts. He sent these pics that he took with his camera for me to enjoy. Cowgirls. Indians and up close and personal with Rascal Flatts. Wish I could be there with him! Maybe next year we can make it a family vacation.
And….
I got to see my younger daughter, Jessica, yesterday. She came and got Leavi so that he could stay with her for a week or so. It is very quiet here with only Luke! Leavi will be missed. I nearly cried when they left yesterday. That is a very kind and warm little boy….. but also very very busy all the time!
Great Husband is one of the 11 semi-trucks that is hauling Rascal Flatts equipment. They were recently in Sarnia, ON at Bayfest. Here is a video of what the trucks look like and the lead driver’s interview.
Great Husband and many of the other drivers spent 5 days in Nashville so that his trailer could be “wrapped” with the bands tour logo - Bob That Head. Husband says that when he driving on the freeways, people will drive up to the trailer, match his speed and take pictures of the trailer.
My daughter, Jessica, was here yesterday and shared her pics and videos of Cochella Fest that she went to on her 26th birthday - April 26th. It was a 3 day event with many many bands and DJs. I went to see Pink Floyd way back in the 80’s - wish I could have seen him again. Here is a video of Roger Waters that she took.
Jeff Healey will be missed. Quote from Pantagraph.com “Canadian blues guitarist Jeff Healey and his band perform in New York’s Central Park, in this July 1, 2000, file photo. Healey, arguably one of the most distinctive guitar players of our time, died Sunday March 2, 2008, in Toronto. He was 41, and leaves his wife, Cristie, daughter Rachel, 13 and son Derek, 3. (AP)”. Even though he was blind, for me, he will always have “Angel Eyes”. I saw him when he was touring with ZZ Top about 15 yrs ago at Konocti Resort and Spa. It was a small outdoor venue and Jeff was the opening band. I got there very early to watch and listen as he warmed up. It was an awesome show. I had originally got my ticket to see ZZ Top and was extra excited when I heard that Jeff Healey was the opening band. BTW, ZZ Top stunk that day.
I call this post “Wordless Wednesday” to honor him with a few moments of silent thought from me.
Great husband is driving some of the band’s equipment on their current tour. He one of several trucks. Rascal Flatts will be playing in Salt Lake City this Friday night. Then on Saturday night they will be in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort. I hope to be able to go to see them since great husband gets free back stage passes. After Las Vegas, they will be in Canada for about a week.
I got to go to the Mandalay Resort to see Mana last August. I had never heard of them before husband went on tour with them because they are from Mexico. That is one of the greatest bands I have ever heard… the band ranks 6th in the world of best latin bands. I did not understand more than 5 words the whole concert (I do not speak Spanish) but the energy from the band and from the audience was almost overwhelming!
This is what I saw that night… different venue but the same show
